Intern

Quick overview: Engage Local Change is seeking a graphic designer to help with on-going organizational and marketing needs, including social media posts, and designing short-form videos.  

 

Whom are we looking for? Graphic design volunteer(s) will be an integral part of ELC's communication team and strategy. We are looking for motivated individuals to help us develop and design ELC messaging. The successful candidate will be someone looking to enter the graphic design, communications, or nonprofit field. Perfect for upper-level students or recent graduates looking to enhance their portfolio.   

 

What are your responsibilities? Graphic designers will develop the creative content for our social media, website, and company collateral. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

 

  • Create assets using Adobe's Creative Suite or alternative  

  • Meet with the ELC team to gain an understanding of the proposed assets and deliverables  

  • Create or incorporate illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect the desired theme and tone of the project  

  • Select type size and style to enhance the readability of text and image 

  • Produce drafts for review by stakeholders and make revisions based on the feedback received 

  • Review final productions for errors to ensure that elements meet creative and technical specs 

  • Provide creative input and content suggestions  

 

What are the qualifications?  

  • Microsoft Office /  Teams proficiency is a must  

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premier  

  • Strong time management and communication skills 

  • Ability to work independently and remotely, as well as collaborate virtually with ELC team 

  • Ability and willingness to work in a very diverse and fast-paced environment 

 

What is the commitment? We are seeking a Graphic Design intern for a 6-month term. Fully remote so anyone in the United States will be considered. There will be a $600 end of term stipend. 

 

What to expect? Expect to work with passionate people who love the arts and want to make an impact in engaging the community in local government. This position could lead to a part-time salaried position at ELC. As a team, we are also always open to suggestions and would love to see what you can come up with.
